About Teleprompter Online

A free teleprompter built on one idea: fewer buttons between you and the next take.

Why this exists

Teleprompters used to mean a studio, an operator and a rig that cost more than the camera. Then they meant desktop software with a licence key. Neither made sense for someone recording a course intro at a kitchen table on a Tuesday night. Teleprompter Online is the version of that tool we wanted: open a page, paste a script, press play.

How it works

Everything runs in your browser. The scrolling engine, the mirror transform, the file import, the saved scripts — all of it is JavaScript executing on your own device. There is no backend that reads your words, because there is no backend at all: the site is a set of static files served from a CDN.

What we mean by private

Your script, your current draft and your prompter settings are stored in your browser's local storage. They are not uploaded, not backed up to a server, and not readable by us. The trade-off is honest: clear your browser data and they're gone. We think that's the right trade for a tool people use to rehearse product announcements and confidential briefings.

Free, and why

The site costs very little to run because it does so little on the server side. There's no per-user cost to cover, so there's no paywall, no watermark, no export limit and no trial. If that changes, it will change in the open — not by quietly gating features you already rely on.

Built for six languages

The interface and every page are available in English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German and Italian, with real translations rather than machine output dropped into a template. If something reads wrong in your language, tell us — that's the kind of bug report we most want.
